Holistic Product Favorites September 2019
These are some of my favorite holistic products that I have been using this month! There are so many more I could share, but I do not want to overwhelm you with information and resources. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below or leave a favorite holistic product recommendation of your own!
GARDEN OF LIFE ELDERBERRY SYRUP
I recently stumbled across Elderberry Syrup because, well, its covering the shelves of Whole Foods. I’m planning a full article discussing the benefits of Elderberry, but in short, it is extremely high in Vitamins A, B and C to help boost the immune system.
I am excited about this particular brand because it also includes zinc and rosemary extract for an extra immune boost and antibacterial effect. I love Garden of Life ad a brand because everything they make is organic, non-gmo, and certified gluten-free and vegan!
GARDEN OF LIFE ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND
Omid says I should get into the diffuser business because we have one in every room. We stopped using candles for multiple reasons (air pollution, synthetic fragrances, etc) and have since switched to essential oils.
This particular blend includes organic lavender, firm balsam and chamomile. It honestly makes the house smell like a spa and I couldn’t be happier.
GARDEN OF LIFE PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
I love essential oil blends because they create such a nice overall aroma, but when I want something that gives me energy and wakes me up I use this organic peppermint essential oil in all our diffusers.
It is also really great for helping relieve headaches! I put a small drop on my finger and rub it on my forehead, temples and back of my neck.
Bio Bidet Ultimate BB-600
You guys are going to laugh…but, this is a GAME CHANGER. We only have it in one of our bathrooms and now it’s the only one we use in the house. This thing is fully loaded with water pressure options, water temperature, seat heater, air dryer, front and back cleaning (if you know what I mean). It makes using toilet paper feel like something from the dark ages!
garden of life raw organic meal replacement
I’m just realizing that more than half of the products I’m sharing are from Garden of Life, but seriously, I love them! I know this says “meal replacement”, but one serving is only 120 calories. I’ve talked about this before because I am actually pretty against most protein/meal replacement powders because they don’t usually have significant nutrient content and are extremely high in sugar.
This one only had 3 grams of sugar and is packed with so many essential nutrients, 44 different superfoods, probiotics and 20 grams of plant-based protein. It’s also completely organic, non-gmo, raw, vegan and gluten-free.
Hu salty dark chocolate
The packaging of this chocolate speaks for itself: no dairy, no gluten, no emulsifiers, no soy lecithins, no palm oil, no refined sugar, no cane sugar and no sugar alcohols. Oh…and it’s delicious.
Nutribiotic everyday pure shampoo & conditioner
I found out about this brand from Amber Johnson, Founder and Owner of Facial Lounge in Newport Beach, CA. I was telling her about how I get frequent breakouts around my hairline, chest and back and she mentioned that my shampoo could be a big factor.
I am so happy to say that after switching to this amazingly clean shampoo I no longer get any acne around my hairline or any itchiness from synthetic fragrances of chemicals. This one made without gluten, paraben preservatives, fragrance, sodium lauryl and laureth sulfates, cocamide DEA, free chlorine derivatives, and colorings.
BluBlox Bluelight Blocking Glasses
With so many cheap blue light blocking glasses on the market I was so hesitant to actually purchase any. I found out about this Australian brand BLUBlox from the Expanded podcast (I like to it in my resources page).
Other than looking super cute, they are the only blue light blocking brand that has been tested and proven to block 100% of ALL Blue/Green light between 400nm and 550nm. These are the night time version, but I also have the daytime lenses without the orange/red tinting.
miracle morning millionaires
This is just one of my September reading list books, but I found this one particularly impactful. David Osborne and Hal Elrod bring up the connection between millionaires and their morning routines. They demonstrate just how important having a morning routine (and an early one at that), is directly linked to wealth.
They walk you through the steps of creating a powerful morning routine and encourage even the night owl that making the shift is possible. This book includes other habits and mindsets that countless millionaires have demonstrated that have led to and help maintain their wealth. This one is a must read for me and one I will probably read multiple times over the years.
beyond the pill
I have shared about this book and am even doing a chapter summary series on my blog (you can find them here) because this book is LIFE CHANGING. I will be talking about and referencing this book for years. Probably until everyone I know has read it…
This is such a comprehensive look at the menstrual cycle and all the hormones at work within our bodies as women. She takes you through what each of your period symptoms mean and which hormone imbalances you might have. Dr. Brighten goes in depth on the many side effects of hormonal birth control, post-birth control syndrome and how to heal your hormones. I cannot beg you enough to read this OR get it on audible and listen!
